Situated
17ks from Perth CBD and next to the ocean you’ll find Sorrento. Here
you'll find an eclectic mix of housing ranging from the odd
remaining fibro shack, dating from the 1970s, to present day,
state-of-the-art, million dollar mansions. Many older properties
still represent good value for an Oceanside suburb so close to the
city.
The city
can be reached either by freeway (20 minutes),
or by train from Warwick station (10 minutes)
which you can access via the local bus service or by car. Sorrento
has numerous parks and is serviced by the
Seacrest Village Shopping Centre.
A 5 minute drive will take you to Whitfords
City where you will find a large shopping mall, fast food outlets, a
cinema and the local Medicare office.
Sorrento
has its own beach. It is part of Marmion
Marine park which is protected by a reef and is therefore popular
with families, snorkellers and scuba divers alike. You'll also find
a surf lifesaving club and an angling
club further along the beach at Marmion.
Hillarys boat harbour is located 2
minutes along the coast, with marina facilities, shopping,
restaurants and cafes, waterslides and kids rides and a fantastic
beach for those will small children. The ferry
to rottenest Island leaves from here
too. The next beach along from Hillarys (Whitfords)
has an animal exercise beach and a large beachfront park with
playgrounds and bbq’s.
Sorrento
has its own public
(government funded)
primary
